James Cheng

Co-founder & Global Director

/ Back Story

James Cheng brings a wealth of experience in both US and international business, particularly in infrastructure and construction. As a seasoned professional in renewable infrastructure and logistics, he co-founded TSOR Group, a consulting firm dedicated to assisting organizations in materializing their vision for a sustainable future.

A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Army Ranger School, and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, James offers a distinct technical expertise and invaluable perspective on leadership and team dynamics. 

Throughout his career, James has supported major global organizations such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, USAID, Halliburton, Gensler, Syska Hennessy, and Burns and McDonnell and managed infrastructure projects in excess of $700MM. He has also managed commercial development in the US and Asia for Lutron, an industry leader in lighting solutions. In addition to his professional accomplishments, James has participated in international missionary work in Nepal, Tanzania, Kenya, Myanmar, and the Philippines, and has served on the Advisory Board for one of the world’s largest church organizations, Willow Creek.

As Co-founder and Global Director of TSOR Group, James specializes in guiding clients towards actualizing their sustainable infrastructure goals. His exceptional leadership and team-building skills bolster TSOR Group’s mission to revolutionize organizations with inventive solutions that generate positive outcomes. With his diverse background and unwavering commitment to excellence, James is dedicated to providing transformative counsel that empowers clients to create resilient, sustainable organizations capable of thriving in today’s rapidly-evolving business environment.
